If you’ve attended a Rival Entertainment event since 2010, it’s likely because Alec Wooden told you about it—through a Facebook page, a show flyer, an event website or email blast, for example. You know that ad that follows you around on your Internet browser until you click on it and buy tickets? He probably created it. Alec’s core strength as Marketing Manager for Rival is identifying fans and communicating with them in ways that resonate.
After graduating from University of Georgia in 2008, Alec worked at Classic Center Theater in Athens doing double-duty manning the box office and providing production assistance onstage. At the same time, he co-founded a music magazine, The Athens Blur, which published 14 rockin’ issues. Additionally, he has written freelance articles for Men’s Book Atlanta, The Atlantan and Creative Loafing, among others.
Alec had a musically diverse upbringing in his hometown of Stone Mountain, Ga., but he’s an indie rock kid at heart and big on discovering new artists. If he’s not at a show, you can find him at home, hanging out with his upright bass. But during Braves’ season, music places a close second to a ballgame.
