The beautiful British Pop singer/ songwriter Rita Ora will be rocking the Loft stage on September 11!
Rita Ora is a very talented British singer, songwriter, and actress. She was born in 1990 in Pristina, Kosovo. When she was one years old her parents decided to move to the UK where she grew up in West London. She graduated from Sylvia Young Theatre and then from St. Charles Catholic Sixth Form College.
She appeared in the British film “Spivs” back in 2004 and auditioned for the British Song Contest Eurovision:Your Country Needs You. She later withdrew from the competition because she felt she wasn’t ready. She had her first music release in 2007 when she featured on Craig David’s song called “Awkward” and then was later featured on Tinchy Stryder song ” Where’s You Love”. She began performing at open mic nights all around London and occasionally performed at her father’s pub. Later in 2009 a A&R showed interest in Rita and told Roc Nation about her. She was later flown to New York to meet and sign with Jay Z. She made a cameo in his video “Young Forever’ and in Drake’s “Over” video.
Her debut album titled “Ora” was released in 2012 and debuted at number one on the UK charts. Her hit singles “R.I.P.” and “How We Do” which was inspired by Notorious B.I.G’s song “Party And Bullshit” reached number one on the UK charts. She was nominated for three Brit Awards in 2013.Her most recent single off of her highly anticipated second album “Poison” peaked at number 3 in the UK. The song is about unhealthy and almost toxic past relationship.Her acting career has also began to flourish with her appearances in movies like Fast & The Furious 6, 50 Shades of Grey, and her most recent role in South Paw which was based on the life struggles of rapper Eminem’s life. She was featured as a couch on The Voice: UK and is now a judge on the X Factor. She will be tearing up the Loft stage on September 11th and you don’t wanna miss it!!
